North Carolina Buddhist Viharaya was started in March 2006. The property was partially donated by Mrs. Shanthi Wijay in memory of her parents Mr & Mrs. Shelton P. Jayasinghe. This temple is dedicated to teaching Buddhist culture and Sinhalese language under the guidance of Ven. Yatiiyana Wajirapala Thero. The mission of the temple is to give the knowledge of Buddhist culture and the Sinhala language to children and adults.
