Noam Eliezer Josephides (born November 10, 1976 in Haifa, Israel) is a film writer and director. Formerly a vice president of marketing at several high technology companies, and an Israeli Air force officer; as a cinema director, he directs films, commercials and music videos.
Education During his high-school years he studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and represented Israel in the international competition "Together to Mars" held by NASA's Planetary Society. He designed a system for compressing the Martian atmosphere and using it to fuel special "hoppers" that will enable researchers to move around the planet, utilizing the solar power for the production of the fuel and designing the custom motor that will use it to propel the hoppers. He has majored in Physics with a specially-honored work on black holes and the quantum theory. After completing his army service, Noam Josephides has graduated from Tel Aviv University, majoring in Film&TV studies. He was the first student ever to be accepted and graduate both the Film direction and the Screenwriting departments simultaneously.
Army Service Noam E. Josephides has served in the Israeli Air Force up to the rank of Captain, from filght cadet in the Israeli flight academy to an operational service as an officer.
Filmography "Tuichi" - Fiction feature-film. Currently in Pre-Producrion and planned for shooting fall 2006 in Brazil, Bolivia and the Amazonian jungle.
"Alex" – Fiction. Winner of "Best Director" award at Fox Studios' "Baja California International Film Festival", nominee for "Best Film" and "Best Actor" awards, selected for the official competition at dozens of film festivals around the world.
"The Game is Bigger than Life" – Short fiction. Produced for the Federal International Football Association, winner of two FICTS awards at the "Movies, Sports & TV" festival in Milan, Italy.
"Stray Weeds in Paradise" – Winner of the "Snunit" award by Israel's Second Authority for Television and Radio.
"Choices" – Documentary. Produced with support of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an "Israeli Culture Ambassador". Currently in editing.
"Let it Go" – Short fiction. Chosen by the Tel Aviv University Social Sciences department to be part of the Gender Studies syllabus.
"Sigapo" – Music video. Nominated for "Best Music Video" award for 2005-6, holds the Israeli Music Channel record for entering the "10 Most Wanted" list, winner of Special Mention for 2005 best music videos.
