Nightingales of Beccles is a small bus company based in Beccles. They were until May 2009 named Wayland's mini coaches. The company benefited from the withdrawal of First Eastern Counties bus services from the Lowestoft area, expanding to take over several former First Eastern routes in the region. Fleet Nightingales's small fleet is composed mainly of Plaxton Beaver buses, and some selection of mercedes metrorider buses. Many have been acquired from other operators including Anglian Bus and Arriva. They serve several routes in Lowestoft, and also allow vehicles out for private hire services and school excursions. Competition Nightingales compete with other bus companies on many of their routes in the Lowestoft area, for example on the 115 route through Kirkley, a popular route in to Lowestoft shared by many other companies. They also run later services in Lowestoft which eastern counties are unable to, for example running later services on the 99 service to Southwold. Suffolk County Council subsidy cuts Due to lack of funding and reduced passenger numbers the county council has decided to cut many of there smaller village routes in Suffolk the victims of these cuts were, 610,532 and 121. The parent company Souls Coaches have decided to withdraw the 106 and 107 service due to lack of passengers. Routes Nightingales recently took over some former First Eastern Counties routes in the Lowestoft area. Its routes now include: * 106 Corton- Lowestoft Bus Station every other hour *107 Gunton Estate Circular from Lowestoft bus station (Every 60 minutes) *108 Oulton Broad Circular from Lowestoft (Every 60 minutes) *115 Green Drive circular from Lowestoft (Limited service) * 482 Stradbroke to Diss * 533 Southwold to Beccles via Wrentham * 534 Southwold to Beccles via Brampton
