Nick Papac

Nicholas "Nick" Papac (1980-2006) was an assistant propmaster and armsmaster for the film industry. The son of prominent propmaster Michael Papac, Papac worked on films such as Hostage, Miami Vice and Flags of Our Fathers.
Papac was killed on August 12, 2006 while in Mesa, Arizona for director Peter Berg's The Kingdom. While filming on a closed portion of the Loop 202 freeway, the Gator all-terrain vehicle Papac was driving collided with a SUV driven by crew member Francis Kaeo. Though two other passengers riding with Papac were uninjured in the collision, Papac sustained severe head injuries and was taken to Scottsdale-Osborn Medical Center, where he died some three hours later.
Though initial reports (including a press release from Berg's studio) state that Papac "crashed into" the SUV, contradictory accounts of the event have appeared on several websites.
