History New Market Mall is a shopping mall in Columbus, Ohio, United States, located at I-270 and Sawmill Road. It was built and opened in 1985 with no big anchors. In 1990 Media Play and CompUSA opened in New Market Mall. Media Play had a mall entrance until 2000 when it was closed off. In 2005 Media Play closed leaving CompUSA. Later Lifestyle Family Fitness moved into the old Media Play building. The interior of the mall was later occupied by California Fitness Center which moved into the entire southern portion of the mall around 2000. Later California Fitness Center closed and was replaced with Golfsmith. In 2011 Lifestyle Family Fitness closed and the entire southern portion of the mall was demolished. CompUSA moved out before the building was demolished. Golfsmith was left until 2013 when Haugland Learning Center, a facility for people with autism spectrum disorders, moved into the old Lifestyle Family Fitness building. In late 2014 Golfsmith will move to another location.
