Navied Mahdavian is an American cartoonist whose work has appeared in The New Yorker, Readers Digest, Narrative Magazine, The Chronicle Review and more. He lives in Chilly, Idaho, with his wife, the filmmaker Emelie Mahdavian. Education Mahdavian earned a B.A. from the University of Miami, and an M.A. in teaching from Stanford University. He taught fifth grade at the Making Waves Academy in Richmond, California. Career Mahdavian had his first cartoon was published in The New Yorker in 2018. He curated "Not OK: Wild West Edition," a show of rejected New Yorker cartoons, in Mackay, Idaho.
