National Coalition Against Legalized Gambling

The National Coalition Against Legalized Gambling (NCALG)was formed in 1994 as a 501.c3 not-for-profit educational organization. The name has recently been changed to Stop Predatory Gambling educational foundation.ref: http://www.ncalg.org/index.htm . The organization has affiliates in about 40 states.
Mission Statement
"The National Coalition Against Legalized Gambling compiles information on the adverse personal, social, economic and public health impacts of gambling and disseminates it to citizens and policy-makers at the local, state and national levels."
Activities
The NCALG is funded by donations from its 2,500 members, a $10,000 contribution from the LDS (Mormon) Church to set up an 800 phone number, as well as donations from several other church organizations and foundations. According to Tom Grey, national spokesman, "We're up against a multibillion-dollar industry, and we're beating them with housewives and dentists."
