The Location of Nanggelan Beach
Nanggelan beach is one of a hidden beach in Jember. Nevertheless, there are many
tourists who already know the existence of this beach. Nanggelan beach is
located in the Meru Betiri National Park
which is directly adjacent to the Indian Ocean. It is located in Ambulu
District, precisely entered the Blater estates. Nanggelan beach is located
behind a hill. So, it can not be reached by using vehicle. the distance is about
one kilometer and has a fairly steep incline. You have to make sure if the footwear that we
wear is appropriate with the terrain that will be passed.
Access to the Nanggelan Beach

If we go to this beach, we can pass through multiple paths, but the
easiest is through the intersection Mangli market. Then, we go a head to the
intersection Ambulu. Then we turn to the left to find the gate reads Blater
plantation, from here the road will be rocks and soil. Until there is a fork in
the first monument we turn right, there we will find a portal to-2. Then there
is three junction we turn left over the bridge. After crossing the bridge, there
will be another three junction and we should turn left. Just follow the path up to the portal to the
3rd. From the last village, we turn left onto the teak forests. After
that, we will find a small cross
junction. If we want to go to
Nanggelan beach, we turn left until find hut. For one day we were charged a fee
of 5K. From there, we continue
the journey on foot. From the hut, we must to walk about 100 meter. We will
cross a small river into the forest. There is intersection again and we choose
the road to the right. After that, we select to the left and go up the hill. On
the hill, there is already a footpath, we just follow the course to the top and
then down to the Nanggelan beach.
Attractiveness of Nanggelan Beach

Nanggelan beach is different from other beaches. It has it’s own attractiveness that make people interested in it especially the beautiful scenery. The first, it has white sand that stretches as far as 2 km. The sand is very clean and it has no rubbish. The second, we can also camping on this beach, enjoying the beautiful sunset, and bringing the fishing rod to catch fishes from the beach. The third, it has a source of fresh water that safe to drink. The fourth, The beach has a diverse seafood such as scallops, shrimp, crabs, sea cucumbers and sea snails. So do not worry if we starve when we camping in there because we can find some seafood easily.
Deficiencies of Nanggelan Beach

Nowadays, Nanggelan beach has been known
as the new tourism place in Jember. Because
of this place is still new, so it has
some deficiencies in the facility
and access. First, the Nanggelan beach has limited facilities. This happen
because there is no interference from the government
to build supporting
facilities in this place. Nanggelan beach only
has one parking area and the distance is about 100 m. There is no canteen to
buy any food or drink so we have to bring them by ourselves. Second, the
Nanggelan beach has a quite hard access. To arrived in this beach, we have to pass the rocky path by
foot. It takes time because the track is very difficult.
