Nachtblut

Nachblut is a German death / black metal band which was formed in November 2005, the members are from Osnabrück, a city in Niedersachsen. The band is notable for using a lot of melodic elements in their music in addition to their metal style guitars and growling.
History
Nachtblut ("Night blood") was founded by Askeroth on 13 November 2005. According to a self-description on myspace, the project is based on thoughts of anger and social criticism. Nachblut started a tour in 2007 as a supporting act for Eisregen in the Matrix in Bochum. In the same year the first full length album "Das erste Abendmahl" ("The first supper") was released. The second album was "Antik" ("Ancient") in 2009.
Style / Songs
In the first two albums, a lot of songs contain references to the bible or other religious texts (e.g. "Ketzer" = "Heretic" on the first album). Other songs deal with historic (e.g. "Die Blutgräfin" = "The Blood-Countess") or even social topics (e.g. "Die Mutter, die ihr Kind verlor" = "The mother who lost her child"). Generally, a lot of songs are horror and splatter-themed ones. Some similarities to Eisregen are certainly present both in style of music and lyrics.
