Mukul Choksi is an Indian consultant psychiatrist and sex therapist. Early life and education Choksi was born on 21 December 1959 in Surat, India. He has a medical degree (M.B.B.S) and a Diploma in Psychological Medicine (D.P.M) from Gujarat Medical College, Surat. Career Choksi is from Surat, India. As a doctor he is practising in the fields of sexology and psychiatry since 1991. He has also written numerous ghazals, poetry, and essay stories. He has written fifteen books on the human mind, psychology, sociology, sex and behaviour. He has delivered lectures, talk shows, seminars and workshops on TV channels in Surat, in various schools, colleges, and other institutions. Choksi started his career as a trainee at Sexology Department of K.E.M Hospital, Mumbai under sexologist, Dr. Prakash Kothari. He opened his own clinic- ANGAT at Surat and started his private practice in 1991. Recently he has been affiliated to a newly started Psychiatry Nursing Home- SOCH (Shelter Of Complete Healing), at Surat. Awards and membership Choksi has been awarded the KALAPI Award by Indian National Theater, Mumbai in 2015. He is a member of Gujarati Sahitya Academy. He was a council member in Asian Federation for Sexology for 5 years,as well as a vice president at the Asia Pacific Conference of Sexology.
