Muhammad Shabir Tanoli

M Shabir Khan Tanoli is an educator and activist. He was born on December 12, 1976 in Khalabat, Pakistan. He received his early education from a local public school and then he went to Govt. Polytechnic Institute Haripur. For his graduation, he attended Govt. College Haripur and earned his master degree in English literature in 2003. Currently he is enrolled at Govt. College University, Lahore, for his PhD in English, selected under HEC Scholarship scheme.
During his studies and career as a teacher, Shabir has been active in social work and literary activities. He laid down the foundation of an organization Qalam Qirtas in 1998, to provide a unified platform for the sensible educated people of the area for the development of literary, cultural and welfare activities, with the help of his likeminded friends. Currently poets, writers, sports men, social workers and musicians are the major members of the organization.
During his college years, for a short period, Shabir also worked as an honorary journalist and has been a freelance contributor to various local and national newspapers & magazines.
