Muhammad Ali Sorcar

Muhammad Ali Sorcar is a Bangladeshi diplomat.
Career
* In December 1989 he entered the diplomatic service of Bangladesh.
* He was employed on the West European Desk and at the Multilateral Work in the United Nations Desk.
* From may 1995 to December 2001 he was first secretary at the Bangladesh Mission at the Headquarters of the United Nations in New York. He was Coordinator of the Least Developed Countries (LDC) of the UN
*From 2000 to 2001 he was Representative to the United Nations Security Council.
*From January 2002 to September 2004 he was director of the department United Nations in the , where he issued cases related to the Bangladesh’s claim on the Continental Shelf of the Bay of Bengal (UNCLOS)
*From October 2004 to february 2006 he was minister of the embassy in Brussels.
*From march 2006 to november 2008 he was permanent representative to Headquarters of the United Nations.
*He wrote as desktop study of Bangladesh’s claim to the Continental Shelf of the Bay of Bengal (UNCLOS) at the University of New Hampshire, USA.
*From december 2008 to october 2010 he was director general of the department of International organizations and America in the .
*From october 2010 to october 2013 he was ambassador in The Hague (Netherlands)) and concurrently accredited Ambassador in Warsaw (Poland), Zagreb Croatia, and Serajewo Bosnia and Herzegovina
*From november 2013 to october 2016 he was ambassador in Berlin and concurrently accredited Ambassador in Vienna Austria, Prague Czech Republic, Budapest (Hungary), Ljubljana (Slovenia) and Bratislava (Slovakia)
