Ricardo Lagos Andino

Dr. Ricardo Lagos Andino (August 10, 1954) is a Honduran diplomat. He
has both Honduran and Spanish nationality.
Career
From 1981 to 1982 and from
1986 to 1989 he was a lecturer at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma
de Honduras (UNAH) and since 2009 he is a lecturer for the PhD
program of Social Science at the UNAH. From 1983 to 1986 he was a
lecturer at the Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität (WWU) and since
1993 he is a lecturer at the Institute for Political Science at the
WWU. From 2001 to 2007 he was also a lecturer at the University of
Applied Sciences Münster (Fachhochschule Münster). From 1986 to
1988 he was the director of “Planning” of the Ministry of
Planning. In 1988 he was a consultant of UNICEF. From 1988 to 1989 he
was coordinator for the establishment of the Central American
Parliament. From 1988 to 1993 he was the subdirector of the Instituto
de Relaciones Europeo-Latinoamericanas (IRELA) in Madrid. From 1991
to 1993 he was an advisor of the European Economic and Social Committee
(EESC) and from 1993 to 1994 he was head of a department of the
Academy Franz-Hitze-Haus in Münster (Westphalia). From 1994 until
July 10, 1998 he was ambassador in Germany (Bonn) and from November
4, 1996 also accredited as ambassador in Austria (Vienna) and Poland
(Warsaw). Since 1998 he is permanent representative in Europe of the Central American Parliament. From 2000 to 2003 he was advisor of the
Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI). From 2005
to 2009 he was an advisor of the Comisionado Nacional de Derechos
Humanos en Honduras (CONADEH) and in 1998 he was condecorated by the
Federal President of Germany with the Order of Merit of the Federal
Republic of Germany in the class of Grand Cross (Großes Verdienstkreuz mit Stern und Schulterband).
Personal life
He is married to Claudia Kalhoff de Lagos Andino M.A. since 1977, and has seven children.
