Godwin H. Ogbadu

Godwin Haruna Ogbadu is a Nigerian Professor of Biochemistry. Born on the 20th of April, 1949. He attended St. Paul’s College(now known as Kufena College, Wusasa), Zaria in 1962 and 1967 for his School certificate and higher School certificate respectively. He obtained a B.Sc in Biochemistry, from the University of Ibadan in 1972 and a Ph.D Biochemistry in 1977 from the same University.
In 1976, he was appointed Lecturer II in the Department of Biochemistry, Ahmadu Bello University , Zaria and rose to the rank of Professor in October 1989. He was a postdoctoral fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the Institute for Food Process Engineering, Federal Research Institute for Nutrition, Karlsruhe, Germany ( 1980/ 1981).
Godwin worked as the pioneer Director of Research (Aug 1996 to April 2014) at the Biotechnology Advanced Laboratory, , Abuja under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, where he helped to establish the laboratory. Professor Ogbadu was a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Organisation for the prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in the Hague from 2004 to 2011. He has served on several national and international committees on strategic plan for biotechnology.
He has published over seventy-seven (77) papers and has about four (4) unpublished dissertations.
Prof G.H. Ogbadu has produced many M.Sc. and Ph.D students.
