Muaythai Federation of India

The Muaythai Federation of India (MFI) was established in 1990 under the Rules and Regulations of the International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA). The MFI is the first full-fledged National Muaythai Federation recognized by IFMA, World Muaythai Council (WMC), and Federation of Muaythai Amateur of Asia (FAMA).
Oken Jeet Sandham is the founder and President of the Muay thai Federation of India (MFI). He became a founder Member of the World Muaythai Council (WMC) when the Council was formally established on September 25, 1995 at Bangkok, Thailand and Sandham was officially invited to represent Indian when the First World Convention of the WMC was called in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Muaythai Federation of India has been taking part in IFMA-related Muaythai tournaments, conventions, and seminars held in various parts of the world. The MFI has also been organizing National Muay thai Tournaments for the last nearly two decades in various parts of the country and initiated various Muay Thai projects in order to popularize, develop and promote the art. Some of the prominent projects are “Pro-Muaythai events” organized under certain “Banners” like “Challenger Cup” which has already been introduced since 2012 in Imphal, Manipur. This has officially been declared as an Annual Feature of “Challenger Cup” under the brand name of “Imphal National Muay thai Challenger Cup.” It has already been organized two times at Imphal. This will be a permanent project to be held annually at Imphal.
