Mostafa Ibrahim

Mostafa Ibrahim (born 1986) is a young Egyptian slang poet. He has completed his university studies at the Engineering Faculty, Cairo University, specializing in aeronautical engineering in 2008. He has participated in the establishment of a company for real estate projects and general contracting such as: “Aish wa halawa”, "Astigmatism", and he has collaborated with many bands such as the "Iskanderalla", "Hekayat", "Baraka", and many young Egyptian singers such as: “Mohammad Mohsen”, "Maryam Saleh", "Sherine Abdo" and Arab singers such as the Tunisian one “Ghalia Ben Ali”. He has participated with the world-famous musician “Fathi Salama” in a series of concerts "Poetry of the Revolution" at the Egyptian Opera House.
The revolution
After migrating to the US he came back to live in Egypt. He was a supporter of the revaluation distributed flyers at night calling for a demonstration on January 25, at that time the director of Merit called him to tall him that the poems collection has been published. So he went to Merit, and on the 25th, he participated in the Shubra march that was heading to Tahrir square (liberation). He was arrested on Al-Qasr Al-Aini Street, and they transferred him to the military prison in Al-Salam camp.
Literary writings
* He published his first poem collection entitled "Western Union, Farae Al Haram" (Western Union Haram Branch) by Merit Publishing House in January 2011.
* He published his second poem collection, "Al Manifesto" (The Manifesto) in 2013, which was chosen as the best poem collection of the year.
* He published his third poem collection, "Al zamen" (time) in 2019.
* Wrote a daily poetry column in Al-Tahrir newspaper entitled “Dorej Al Qahera” (Cairo stairs).
Honors
* “Al Manifesto” (The Manifesto) poem collection, won the Grand Prize at the Ahmed Fouad Nejem Prize Festival for Public Poetry.
