Jennifer Wong

Jennifer Wong is a published Hong Kong poet and writer.
Wong was born and brought up in Hong Kong. Her poems appeared in various poetry magazines and journals. She started writing poems since she studied English literature at University of Oxford and went on to study MA in creative writing at the University of East Anglia. Her writing is much inspired by the ostranenie in the works of Haruki Murakami. Her debut poetry collection Summer Cicadas was published by Chameleon Press (Chameleon, 2006). Her poems have appeared in journals including Warwick Review, Iota, Coffeehouse Poetry, Cha: An Asian Literary Journal, Dimsum, Aesthetica, Mascara Literary Review, New Writer, "Strong Verse", The Reader and UEA Poetry Anthology 2009. Her poem 'Myth' was long-listed in the UK Plough Prize 2008.
She is member of the Poetry Outloud, a monthly poetry group at the Fringe Club in the Lan Kwai Fong District on Hong Kong Island. She was a participant poet at The Hong Kong International Literary Festival in 2008.
She is currently in the United Kingdom.
