Morgan Innes (November 10, 1992 - March 28, 2007) was an Australian figure skater. She won the 2006 Queensland Intermediate Ladies Championship and placed 7th at the 2006 Australian Championships in the novice ladies division. Sydney Harbour tragedy The collision near the Sydney Harbour Bridge claimed the lives of several of Australia's ice skating elite, who were on board a 10-meter motor cruiser MV Pam Burridge on March 28, 2007 to celebrate the national team's performance at the World Championships in Tokyo the week before. Innes was killed along with ice skating judges Simone Moore and Alan Blinn, and 45-year-old Sydney man James Engert on the sightseeing trip when the cabin cruiser collided with a Sydney Ferries Harbour Cat just before 11pm. Also injured in the crash was Innes' coach Liz Cain who represented Australia in the 1980 Winter Olympic Games, Cain's leg had to be amputated. Morgan's body was missing for five days before it was discovered on April 2 by a police dive team 200 meters from the crash sight. In April 2007, Morgan's parents Robert and Kim have since established the Morgan Innes Foundation in loving memory of their daughter, which raises funds to help young ice skaters pursue their professional dreams. In 2010, the International Olympic Committee banned the use of yellow bracelet worn by Australian Olympic Figure Skater Cheltzie Lee to honor Morgan deeming the bracelet as a sponsorship item.
