Monica Lee is a Chinese music publishing executive. She is the President for Asia-Pacific of Warner Chappell Music, based in Hong Kong. Biography Monica Lee began her career in the A&R departments at Universal Records Taiwan and Polygram Records Taiwan. She became General Manager of Mussett Publications, an independent music publishing company, in 1999. When Mussett was acquired by Warner/Chappell Music in 2002, she also joined. Monica Lee continued at Warner/Chappell Music as creative director until 2009 when she was promoted to the role of senior vice-president for their Asia Pacific division. She expanded Warner/Chappell activities in China and South Korea, creating collaborations between local and international songwriters. In 2016, Monica Lee was promoted to the role of President for Warner/Chappell's Asia Pacific division. Upon being promoted, Jon Platt, CEO and Chairman of Warner/Chappell said: “Under Monica’s impressive direction, Warner/Chappell has built an outstanding reputation across the Asia-Pacific songwriting community and throughout the region’s music industry, from signing promising new talent and helping steer the careers of established songwriters, to strategically aligning with digital partners and growing our presence in key markets, Monica is a vital member of our senior team." In 2020, upon the opening of Warner Chappell Music's Shanghai office, Monica Lee said: "Shanghai has an incredible music scene and many songwriters move here from across China to pursue their careers. The city is also home to many of China's advertising, brand and entertainment businesses, so it's the logical place to open our new office that'll complement our existing presence in Beijing."
