The Presidential Memorandum Regarding Withdrawal of the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership Negotiations and Agreement also known as Executive Order 13766 is an U.S. federal presidential memorandum signed by President Donald Trump that withdrew the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal. Criticism Senator John McCain said this action was the "wrong decision" and a "serious mistake that will have lasting consequences for America's economy and our strategic position in the Asia-Pacific region."<ref name="reuters170123"/> "This decision will forfeit the opportunity to promote American exports, reduce trade barriers, open new markets, and protect American invention and innovation.
