Mojoflo

Mojoflo is a Columbus, Ohio-based musical group formed in 2007 that blends the sounds of hip-hop, R&B, soul, jazz, funk and reggae, or neo-Funk, through incorporating vocals, synths, horns and guitars.
Background
With many members having grown up around music, Mojoflo started playing together in college in 2007. Members' previous musical experiences include playing with Parliament-Funkadelic, the Columbus Jazz Orchestra, Ray Charles' bassist Roger Hines, Miles Davis's bassist Foley, and Yumbambe. Pulling inspiration from artists like Chaka Khan, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Miles Davis and more, the group created its own genre of sound, neo-funk, to incorporate the members' variety of musical backgrounds. Mojoflo is also a big name in the music festival scene. They have had recognition from shows they played, like All Good, Nelsonville Music Festival, Rootwire, Fashion Meets Music, and The Werk Out. Mojoflo continues to play at some of the country's largest and most recognized celebrations including Mardi Gras in New Orleans, LA and The Kentucky Derby in Louisville, KY, according to the group's social media sites.
The band was voted Best Local Band of 2012 and 2014 by Columbus Underground. The unit continues to tour, play in clubs, festivals and their own concerts for over 120 nights a year.<ref name=":1" />
