Mohd Hussein Abdul Hamid

Mohd Hussein bin Ab. Hamid is a Malaysian, aged 54, currently Senior Director, Direct Business Units of United Engineers (M) Berhad (UEM Group) and UEM World Berhad.
Under his portfolio, he also heads the directorship of Teras Teknologi; Rangkaian Segar of Touch 'n Go, KUAD and GAPIMA.
Biography
An associate member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), Mohd Hussein started his career as an Inventory Accountant for ESSO Production (M) Inc. in 1977. He joined Intel (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in 1978 as a Cost and Management Accountant. He assumed the position of Factory Accounting Manager of Goodyear (M) Berhad from 1981 to 1984. From 1985 to 1994, he was Finance Manager for Motorola (Malaysia) Berhad. He joined Ayer Molek Rubber Company Berhad in 1994 as the Finance Director.
He started his involvement with UEM Group since 1995, as the General Manager, Business Development of Intria Berhad (now known as UEM Builders Berhad). Mohd Hussein then joined a United Kingdom based company, Costain Group Plc, as the Corporate Development Director. He was then seconded to National Steel Corporation, Philippines as Executive Director of Finance and returned to UEM Group as Chief Operating Officer (COO) in Projek Lebuhraya Selatan (PLUS) Berhad also known as North-South Expressway from March 2000 to August 2003.
Prior to his current appointment, he was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of both PLUS Berhad and PLUS Expressways Berhad (PEB) during its listing exercise from September 2003 until August 2004.
From 1 September 2004, he was the Chief Operating Officer, Direct Business Units of UEM Group. Concurrent with this position, he was appointed as Senior Director, Direct Business Units of UEM World Berhad with effect from 8 July 2005.
With effect from 1 January 2006, he was appointed to his currect position as Senior Director, Direct Business Units of United Engineers (M) Berhad (UEM Group) and UEM World Berhad with directorship in several companies within UEM Group.
