MobileIron, Inc. provides mobile device management and security to large enterprises.
History
MobileIron was founded in 2007 by Ajay Mishra, Suresh Batchu and Bob Tinker. Ajay Mishra had previously founded Airespace, which was acquired by Cisco in 2005. The company has raised over $50 million in funding from Sequoia Capital, Norwest Venture Partners, Storm Ventures and Foundation Capital.
MobileIron began shipping its products in late 2009.
MobileIron is headquartered in Mountain View, California, and has offices in the Netherlands, Germany, United Kingdom, Japan, China, Singapore and Hyderabad, India. The company opened new development office in Bellevue, WA sometime in fall of 2012.
Products and features
* Virtual Smartphone Platform and Connected Cloud - Management and security of both corporate- and employee-owned mobile devices, including remote provisioning, device status, policy enforcement, remote lock and wipe, network access control and the ability for an employer to spy on its employees using the device tracking function.
* Multi-OS clients - Management of multiple mobile operating systems: iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Symbian, webOS, Windows Mobile and Windows Phone.
* Partner API - Carriers and partners can build proprietary applications for mobile device management, security and analytics, integrating MobileIron data with applications in the enterprise
* MobileIron Sentry - Allows IT personnel to identify unauthorized devices, block their access and enforce company policies via iPad.
