Mo Stegall

Shimoura A. Stegall (born August 7, 1974) in Atlanta, Georgia is popularly known by his public persona Mo Stegall, is an American writer, brand ambassador, philanthropist, author, motivational speaker and media personality. Originally given the name Moe from the vaudeville and comedy act of the early to mid-20th century Three Stooges character Moe Howard by his mother.
Internationally, Mo Stegall is perhaps best known for his creation of the popular television show The S.E.L.F Show which debut in February of 2003 and his work alongside acclaimed actor and best selling author Hill Harper on UNCF HBCU Empower Me Tour in 2008-2009 and as Youth Empowerment Ambassador for The National Urban Leaguein 2010-2011.
Early Life
Mo Stegall was born Shimoura Antwione Stegall in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated high school from North Atlanta High School of the Performing Arts, in Buckhead, GA. He grew up in a single parent home with his mother, Louise Stegall, who was a community leader and president of the Housing Association. He was active in sports, lettering in football, basketball and track & field. After high school he attended Middle Georgia College, where he majored in Accounting but would later discover his ability to write through an English professor, Peter Gareis. Stegall expressed his deep appreciation for Gareis assisting him in realizing his potential in his bestselling empowerment book "Against All Odds I Can Be"
Philanthropy
I Can Be Foundation Inc.
Mo Stegall founded in 2010 the I Can BE Foundation a 501c3 organization dedicated to educating people, encouraging change, and empowering communities and undeserved youth to succeed. The philosophy of the organization is to provide young men and women with nurturing support systems, tools, resources and guidance through mentoring, scholarship and enrichment programs.
One of his most passionate philanthropic achievements is being an HIV/AIDS activist. He, was compelled to share his personal testimony regarding his experience indirectly with the disease and the impact it has on his life.
He lost his mother to AIDS in 2000 after she was infected intentionally by her boyfriend. Stegall has assisted in world missions with Samaritans Feet conducted various HIV/AIDS testing with national organizations such as AID Atlanta
Empowerment Speaker
In 2001, Mo Stegall discovered that he possessed a passion to change lives from within and has since traveled all over the United States as a motivational speaker and has shared his life stories of accomplishments and his ability to overcome. In the Summer of 2009, he had the opportunity to host the UNCF Empower Me Tour. The tour visited HBCUs all around the country such as Howard, Hampton and Dillard University. The tour was utilized to bring awareness and education to students and people in the community. Its purpose was to empower those to become active architects of their own destinies and covered topics such as financial literacy.
In 2010-2011, He led a global empowerment initiative developed by Rey Ramsey of One Economy and Mark Morial president of The National Urban League to ensure that every American had access to jobs with a living wage and good benefits, access to quality and affordable health care solutions, every American child is ready for college, work and life, and that every American lives in safe, decent, affordable and energy efficient housing on fair terms.
He is sincerely committed to encouraging and equipping audiences to revolutionize their destiny. His deepest passion and desire is personal growth and development and to sanction others to achieve greatness.
He has appeared in and on UPN, NBC, CBS, WTVI, BET, Radio Disney, Upscale Magazine, Jet, Entertainment Weekly, Atlanta Journal Constitution, The Atlanta Voice and Rolling Out Magazine.
He has dedicated himself to serving others and has joined the "Anti-Bullying" campaign to "Spread the Word to End the Word" along side various organizations and the Special Olympics

In 2010 Stegall released his first book an empowerment guide entitled Against All Odds I Can Be 10 Steps To Revolutionize Your Destiny.
Media Personality
He has appeared on both local and national commercials, infomercials, and television broadcasts.
In 2002, he launched his own talk and entertainment show entitled The S.E.L.F Show for teens and young adults described as "Oprah and Jerry Springer meet 106 & Park." Stegall hosted the show for five years and used it to address a multitude of issues, ranging from homelessness and teen prostitution to relationships, as well as showcasing up-and-coming talent.
Now as Executive Producer, the show has been coined The Voice for Youth and at its height was viewed in more than 30 countries around the world. Stegall would leave the S.E.L.F Show as its regular host and go on to host his own syndicated radio talk show entitled "Talk About It Today! With Mo Stegall."
Stegall’s daily show “Talk About It Today with Mo Stegall” was a radio show that focused on a motivating message with relevant content to enlighten, inform, inspire individuals and communities globally. The show’s mission is to ignite audiences to transform from simply BEING to BECOMING. Stegall’s hosting style focused on an ”intimate tenor” with guests that included LisaRaye, Lamann Rucker of Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns, Dwight Eubanks of Bravo Network Real Housewives of Atlanta, Hill Harper and others. The show featured a diverse range of topics including “Social Etiquette”, “Home Ownership”, “The Rules of Dating” and “Pursuing Your Dreams”.
He lent his talents to two films Unforgivable Fate starring John dean & Noni Redding and produced the blockbuster film 10th & Wolf
Personal Life
Mo Stegall is married to Tiffany Stegall and the couple have no children of their own. Tiffany is a national singer who has performed and recorded with national recording artists such as John P. Kee, Patrick Love, Christopher Bostic, and Nikki Canada. Tiffany appears on John P. Kee's 2002 album "Blessed By Association"
