Miss Courtie is a 40 foot wooden boat built by Peter Kass at Saint John Bay Boat located in South Bristol, Maine. This boat was launched in 1997. It contains a 300 horsepower John Deer diesel engine. The boat was named by the captain, Gene Drinkwater, after his niece Courtnie. The captain, Gene Drinkwater, hired his son, Westley Drinkwater to be the stern man. The boat is taken out of McLoon's Wharf in Spruce Head Maine. This boat could be considered unique due to the fact that is was built out of wood, whereas most boats today are made out of fiberglass. Miss Courtie is still located in Spruce Head today, however it has been taken over by Gene's other son, Blair Drinkwater as captain, with his brother Westley still the stern man.
