Mike Verdi

Michael Verdi managed in American minor league baseball for nearly a decade.
He began in 1985, skippering Baltimore Orioles farm team the Bluefield Orioles of the Appalachian League. In 1986, he replaced Harry Steve as manager of the San Jose Bees, an independent team in the California League. He managed the Bees again in 1987, leading them to only 33 wins (and 109 losses). In 1988, he led the AZL Red Sox/Mariners of the Arizona League. In 1989 and 1990, he headed the Boston Red Sox minor league affiliate the Elmira Pioneers of the New York-Penn League. In 1991, he skippered the Florida State League's Winter Haven Red Sox.
He did not manage from 1992 through 1995.
In 1996 and 1997, he managed the Grand Forks Varmints of the independent Prairie League. He led them to the league finals in the former season, though they lost that playoff series.
He is the son of former major league player player Frank Verdi. He also coached for the Bees before becoming manager.
