Mike Rimmer

Mike Rimmer is an award-winning radio presenter and journalist who is passionate about Christian music. Mike broadcast his first solo radio show in 1983 and is the only survivor of the original line up of Cross Rhythms presenters.

As well on Cross Rhythms, Mike has presented on a number of other stations including BBC WM, UCB and Day One.

Mike can often be found in print too, writing regularly for the Cross Rhythms website. He has a regular music column for Sorted Magazine and also writes on a freelance basis for (amongst others) Wesley Owen. He's interviewed pretty much every Christian artist imaginable for radio and print and is the UK's foremost Larry Norman expert.

Hailing from North East England, Mike made Birmingham his home in 1989 where he spent the nineties lecturing at Matthew Boulton College and his free time developing his talents on BHBN Hospital Radio and setting up a dozen Restricted Licence stations that broadcasted at special events. Since 1998 he's worked full time in the media.

Mike presents his thrice-weekly show on Cross Rhythms featuring the best of Christian music from Tuesday through Thursday. It's often the only avenue for a number of Christian musicians/bands that are often ignored by regular radio stations. He's often regarded as the closest thing to a "Christian John Peel".
