Michigan Football Turnovers

The 2008 Michigan Wolverines football team did not make a bowl game that year for the first time in 34 consecutive seasons. Bowl eligibility requires the team to have a winning record, and the Wolverines had their first losing season that year since 1967.
One factor that could have led to Michigan's losses that year could have been turning over the ball. For example, in the NFL at least, teams that commit more turnovers than their opponent lose 81% of the time.
So beginning with the 2008 season, it turns out Michigan gave the ball away in all but one of their games that season. Their six turnovers that season against Notre Dame were the most in over 15 years. As Michigan attempts to rebuild its bowl streak, which currently stands at one season, it's important for Michigan to minimize its turnovers.
