Michael V. Marinello is an American communications and public relations professional specializing in brand and reputation, crisis and issues management, and legal and regulator matters. He is also known for his social and digital media savvy. Marinello currently serves as the Director of Global Communications for the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group where he is responsible for setting the global communications strategy; building and managing a global communications platform and team; brand management; social and digital media; and media partnerships. The C40 is a global network of 63 cities that account for approximately 14% of global GHG emissions as currently estimated. He also works in Corporate Communications for Bloomberg LP, the global leader in business and financial information. Previously he served as a Senior Advisor to Bloomberg Philanthropies, where his responsibilities included running all communications efforts. Career and Education Marinello recently worked at the Microsoft Corporation where he was a Director of Public Relations and Analyst Relations for the Microsoft Office Division. Prior to that he served as Director of Public Relations for Microsoft’s Intellectual Property and Licensing Division. Before his work at Microsoft, Marinello served in the US Senate as Special Assistant to Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan (NY) and Press Secretary to Senator Robert Kerrey (NE). He developed and ran global public affairs for The GCI Group, and developed and ran WW Public Relations for Becton Dickinson and Company. He is a graduate of Lehigh University, where he studied International Relations and History.
