Michael Parry

Michael Parry is an American filmmaker. He attended the American Film Institute's Cinematography program. His Thesis Film, Double Negatives, won the prestigious Collin Higgins award for "filmmaking that inspires the human spirit", first place at the First Glance Film Festival in Los Angeles, and was included in AFI's showcase at the Cannes Film Festival. He has also completed films that have shown at New York's Whitney Museum, the New York Video Festival at Lincoln Center, and Sundance Film Festival.

Michael Parry grew up in San Diego, California and spent five years in the San Francisco Bay Area attending UC Berkeley before the warm Santa Ana Winds and the call of filmmaking landed him in Los Angeles, the center of the Celluloid universe. While at Berkeley, Michael Studied Literature, Philosophy, and Film Theory and wrote an honors thesis exploring the relationship between subjectivity of character formation narrative film.
