Michael J. Roth is an American film producer and retired physician.
As a practicing physician for twenty-five years, Michael always had a keen interest in the entertainment industry. In college, the theatre was always a passion -- dancing in GUYS AND DOLLS, OKLAHOMA, THE PAJAMA GAME and WEST SIDE STORY.
Prior to medical school he obtained a Bachelors and Masters of Science Degrees in Internal Medicine and Allergy Immunology. During his practicing years he continued to dabble in the arts by using show business benefits to raise millions of dollars for various AIDS charities. As a long-time personal friend and physician of Elizabeth Taylor, his fundraising activities stretched from Broadway to Hollywood. He was the medical advisor (with creative input) on the groundbreaking first AIDS movie An Early Frost.
After retiring from medicine, Michael decided to pursue his lifelong desire to reenter the creative arts by investing in the highly-acclaimed feature RELAX...IT'S JUST SEX and uproarious stage production of Howard Crabtree's WHEN PIGS FLY.
In 2000, he joined his longtime friend Steven_J._Wolfe as Director of Development for Sneak Preview Entertainment, utilizing his close personal ties to Hollywood and his keen artistic sense to create a new Music Video and Television Division. Since then, Michael was co-producer of The_Civilization_of_Maxwell_Bright staring Patrick Warburton.
