Michael Bezjian

Michael Bezjian (born March 30, 1959) is a press photographer and portraitist who is currently a contributing photographer for Getty Images. As a photographer for Getty, he has photographed celebrities and special events in the entertainment industry, and his work has appeared in major publications worldwide.
Bezjian is the founder of the Starving Artists Project, an organization which provides free services, support, and press for new artists breaking into the entertainment industry.
Early life
Bezjian was born in Washington, D.C. He became interested in photography at age ten after taking a photo of dolphins at the theme park Marineland of Florida; unaware that the dolphins were trained to jump from the water, he believed that he had taken spectacular photograph. With US diplomats as parents, Bezjian traveled the world and was further exposed to his father's hobby of photography. He was also the photographer for his school yearbook and newspaper in Venice, Florida. He attended the University of South Florida.
Career
In the early 1980s, Bezjian began his career as an assistant to film director Elliot Silverstein and writer Lawrence Hauben. He also worked as a grip for the films Pumpkinhead and The Patty Hearst Story. In 1991, he began working in marketing for Hemdale Film Corporation. Bezjian became a full-time photographer in 2005, when he joined Getty Images as a contributing photographer. Since joining Getty, he has photographed numerous celebrities and entertainment events, and his photos have been included in numerous publications.
The Starving Artists Project also offers internships to those interested in gaining experience with photography, media production, editing, graphic designing, hair and makeup, and other aspects of the entertainment industry covered by the services provided by the organization.<ref name="LAWeekly" />
