Metrodigi is a platform technology company based in Larkspur, California. They offer a cloud-based SaaS authoring platform, Chaucer, which is used by a wide variety of companies in education, entertainment, corporate development, and technology to create interactive digital content. History Metrodigi was founded in 2010 with the goal of simplifying digital publishing workflows that were largely rooted in traditional print publishing models. Originally focused on the conversion of digital books, the company moved to a Software as a Service model with the beta launch of its Chaucer authoring platform in late 2014. In addition to a subscription platform, Metrodigi provides services and consultation directly with companies such as Pearson, Time Inc., Apple, Bertelsmann and Scholastic, and VitalSource. Metrodigi has been influential in helping advance the standards of digital publishing, including active participation in industry standards groups such as the International Digital Publishing Forum. Through the IDPF, Metrodigi open sourced a core set of scriptable components (“widgets”) to help kick-start the widget working group for EPUB3 and define a globally adoptable open standard. Products Chaucer is a cloud-based authoring platform for the creation of digital publication, interactive applications, and content. Chaucer provides a full set of authoring and collaboration tools that allow teams to create a wide range of formats, as well as implement “digital-first” publishing workflows. The software found an immediate market among publishers and digital content creators, Bill McCoy, president of the International Digital Publishing Forum declared Chaucer “a major step forward for EPUB3 that can keep today's publishers relevant and competitive.” Press Metrodigi’s work for National Geographic was a finalist for the 2015 SIAA CODie Award. CookingLight: Lighten Up, America! reflowable eBook received a Digital Book Award in 2014. Metrodigi was awarded a PromaxBDA Global Excellence award for their transmedia book Grimm: The Essential Guide Seasons 1&2 created for NBC.
