Metal Injection

Metal Injection is a heavy metal music news website. It was created in the summer of 2003 and launched in January 2004 by co-owners Frank Godla and Robert Pasbani.
Originally, the company was a half hour public access show on Saturdays at 3 am, which featured music videos and live footage before transitioning to a news site format. The site's content includes reviews, original video content (such as interviews and music documentaries), and various podcasts such as Metal Injection Livecast, Full Metal Hipster, and Relapse Podcast.
On September 18, 2013, Metal Injection partnered with Peavey Electronics, MTV producer Mike J. Marco, musician Chris Harfenist and guitarist Alex Skolnick to create the video project "Louder Education", which worked in tandem with Harfenist's school music program "THOR".
Metal Injection has put on an annual showcase at the SXSW festival. At the 2015 SXSW festival, Veil of Maya, Cancer Bats, KEN mode, Full of Hell, Felix Martin, Mantar, and Moon Tooth were featured during the Metal Injection Showcase. The following year's SXSW Metal Injection Showcase included Steve 'N' Seagulls, Exmortus, Wild Throne, The Fine Constant, Wrong, Take Over And Destroy, and Aminals.
Recognitions and awards
In 2007 sociologist Keith Kahn-Harris called Metal Injection one of the first internet TV channels dedicated exclusively to heavy metal. In June 2012, it was awarded the "Beyond the Blog" award at the MTV O Music Awards. In 2013, LA Weekly named Metal Injection one of the ten best websites for heavy metal, praising its original video content, appearances of modern artists and humor articles. That year, it was listed by Ditto Music as one of the twenty influential music sites that support independent and new artists.
