The Melbourne Feminist Collective (MFC) is a diverse group of feminists committed to reigniting a broad-based feminist movement in Melbourne, Australia. Established in 2010, the MFC is a non-aligned group of community activists, seeking to move beyond old divisions in the feminist movement by focusing on what unites rather than divides feminists. The MFC believe diversity and inclusiveness must be the guiding principles as they work together to create a feminist future. To the MFC, feminism is: * a social justice movement that aims to put an end to sex and gender based discrimination and oppression * a political ideology that forms a necessary tool of analysis for anyone striving for a more fair and equal world The MFC seek to build on the hard-won victories of previous generations of feminists, while confronting contemporary problems with a fresh and critical eye. The MFC believes constructive dialogue and solidarity are essential to the rejuvenation of feminism today.
