Mel Buckley is an American R&B singer (born August 6, 1984 in Chicago, IL USA), also known as Melvin Buckley.
High school Years
Buckley grew up on the Southside of Chicago and while other young men his age were turning to violence and crime, he chose to follow a different path filled with sports and music. At 6’7, Buckley quickly became a star high-school basketball player for Thornwood High school Thunderbirds, earning such notable accolades and titles such as Adidas All American and being a Top 50 High-school Recruited Player. College Years
After High school, Buckley went on to play college basketball for Purdue University and University of Southern Florida (USF). Music career
After a brief stint playing professional basketball overseas, Buckley returned home due to a sever foot injury. Since beginning a professional singing career in 2007, Mel Buckley has made major accomplishments in the music industry for an independent artist. His single “Sexasode” landed #77 on Billboard Top 100 Charts.
