Mega Lo Mart

Mega Lo Mart is a fictional supermarket in the animated series King of the Hill. The store is thought to be loosely based on Wal-Mart. Its mascot is Chuck Mangione, who plays the flugelhorn, and in one episode reveals to Hank that he has been living in the Arlen store to escape from the pressure of performance. It was believed that Mega Lo Mart had a rat infestation, until Dale, in the episode "MegaLo Dale." was hired to exterminate the rats. He discovered that Mangione was the real culprit, having fed off of the products at the store in his attempt to live in the store.

The store occurs several times throughout the series. It is the setting of boyfriend Buckley's death. Hank and Chuck Mangione were also in the store at the time and survived the explosion which Buckley caused through improper maintenance of the store's propane tanks. In the first of that two-part episode, Hank is forced to take a job at Mega Lo Mart after Strickland Propane can no longer afford to keep him employed. Hank and Mangione survive and Hank returns to Strickland.
