The McMahon-Levesque Era is an era of professional wrestling within WWE, which began on July 22, 2022. Initiation and return of released talent After Vince McMahon retired in July 22, 2022, WWE had undergone a change within the company. Stephanie McMahon made her return to the company after a brief hiatus. She and Nick Khan were named CO-CEO of WWE as well as Stephanie being named interim Chairwoman of WWE. Triple H made his return to the company after a brief hiatus from a health scare. He was then announced as the head of talent relations and would assume all of Vince's previous roles like head of creative. Words like "wrestlers", "belts" and "straps" were also removed from the banned list. This would be billed online as the start of another new era for WWE due to the many differences already happening within the company (more creative freedom etc.), called the Stephanie McMahon and Triple H era. On August 4, WWE Superstar Becky Lynch also announced this as the beginning of a new era. The 2022 Summerslam event was also the first event to be held during under the leadership of Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. This era was also known for the return of released talent or talent who have left WWE such as Karrion Kross and Scarlett, Dakota Kai, Dexter Lumis, and Sasha Banks (Contract was terminated but was left on the WWE roster page) Return of the WWE Womens Tag Team Championship In May the was vacated after then champions Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out during Monday Night Raw. WWE would then announce a tournament to crown new champions, but the tournament wouldn't be mentioned again until the August 5 episode of Smackdown where Adam Pearce announced the tournament would take place on the August 9 episode of Raw. The tournament consisted of 8 teams (4 from Raw, 3 from Smackdown and 1 from NXT 2.0). The teams are listed as follows: Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky (Raw), Dana Brooke and Tamina (Raw), Alexa Bliss and Asuka (Raw), Nikki A.S.H and Doudrop (Raw), Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah (Smackdown), Shotzi and Xia Li (Smackdown), Natalya and Sonya Deville (Smackdown) and Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark (NXT 2.0).
