McGangBang

The McGangbang is the nickname for a McChicken sandwich inside a Double Cheeseburger (alternatively the McDouble), an off-menu sandwich that has to be custom-made at fast food chain, McDonald's. The sandwich has received widespread coverage on internet blogs, a font for other inventions such as the bacon explosion.
The McGangBang has a small but loyal fan base, predominantly in urban areas on the East Coast of the United States. There has been no concerted marketing attempt to promote the McGangBang, and it shows little signs of being a viral marketing campaign. McDonald's does not confirm or deny the McGangBang's existence, according to official correspondence.
Product description
The McGangbang consists of one value menu item placed inside another, in this case the Double Cheeseburger (alternatively the McDouble) wrapped around a McChicken sandwich. The McGangbang combines the individual toppings of each sandwich. The McChicken contributes two buns, lettuce, mayonnaise, and a chicken patty. The McDouble or the Double Cheeseburger contributes ketchup, mustard, green pickles, onions, two buns, cheese, and two beef patties. While some McDonald's employees are willing to craft the sandwich as a custom order, other chefs demand that the customer purchase the sandwiches separately and assemble the McGangBang individually. However, the excess packaging waste created by this double standard poses an environmental threat resembling that of the ill-fated McDLT.
Etymology
The first evidence of the development of the McGangBang come from a lone Urban Dictionary entry dated 2006. This mention of the McGangBang establishes the McGangBang phenomenon as originating in Daytona Beach, FL. Since then, the McGangBang has developed a considerable following online, with a popular Myspace page created by devotees. The McGangBang appears to be a growing cultural meme with a number of films on Youtube claiming to show the "first" ordering of a McGangBang in a variety of cities: Baltimore, New York, Detroit, and so on. Because of the somewhat risqué nature of the name, mainstream media rarely covers the McGangBang.
Variants
The McGangbang was initially made with the Double Cheeseburger, but with the increase in price above $1.00 USD, many McGangbangers have switched to the lower-cost McDouble.
Burger King's value menu can be similarly manipulated in order to produce a "Royal Gangbang" sandwich, using the Spicy Chicken Sandwich($(1.00 USD) and the Double Cheeseburger ($1.49 USD). Others have used the Double Whopper and Tendercrisp sandwich to create a "Whopgangbang."" Similarly at Wendy's, one can purchase items off of the Value menu (The Double Stack and the Crispy Chicken Sandwich) to create a "Wendy Gangbang." Furthermore, at White Castle, one can manipulate Chicken Breast Sandwhiches or Chicken Ring Sandwiches with sliders to create "Mini Gangbangs."
Media Coverage
The McGangBang's increasing cultural prominence has been mentioned recently in major Twin Cities newspaper City Pages, this is the most mainstream coverage that the sandwich has received. The blog "Eat Me Daily" has composed the most complete history of the gangbang.. The website Youtube has multiple videos of people ordering the sandwich with varying results. Notable in its relative lack of coverage is premier hamburger blog "A Hamburger Today," which has neglected the McGangBang in its otherwise complete coverage of all things burger.
