Max Winters is a character in the animated film TMNT, voiced by Patrick Stewart.
Three thousand years before the film took place, Winters (under his real name, Yaotl) led a massive army with the aid of his siblings (three brothers and a sister) in an effort to conquer the world. To help accomplish his ends, he opened a dimensional portal using a wheel-like artifact and an annual alignment of nine stars, releasing thirteen monsters into the world. The monsters decimated his army and their current opponents, a Central American civilization. In addition, opening the portal turned his four siblings into stone, and left him immortal.
Over time, he came to regard his immortality as a curse and repent his efforts at global domination. He eventually founded a large company, Winterscorp, and used the funds from it to retrieve the statues that were once his siblings (aided in retrieving at least the final one, General Aquila, by April O'Neil) as well as the artifact needed to open the portal. As the alignment approached and the monsters arrived in New York, Winters hired the Foot Clan, currently led by Karai, to locate them; his siblings, revived through undisclosed means (but presumably a mix of technology and magic), would then capture them, bringing them to Winterscorp headquarters.
While Winters wanted to end his immortality, his siblings, most notably General Aquila, enjoyed their invulnerability, and betrayed him by not retrieving the last of the thirteen monsters and striking against him. Unfortunately, they'd substituted the last monster with Leonardo, prompting the Turtles and their allies to mount a rescue. The Foot, ordered by Karai to aid Winters, departed to find the last monster while the Turtles fought the four generals. Winters, aided by Splinter, kept additional monsters from coming through until the last one was sucked into the portal, taking the generals with it. Winters expressed his gratitude to the Turtles and April, laughing at the thought of being mortal again and thanking her for being the one to set him free. He then transformed into a sparkling swirl of light and dust, seemingly dying at long last.
