Mauritius–Spain relations

Mauritius-Spain relations are the bilateral and diplomatic relations between these two countries. Mauritius does not have an embassy in Spain, but his embassy in Paris, France, is accredited to Spain. Spain does not have an embassy in Mauritius but its embassy in Pretoria, South Africa, is accredited for this country.
Diplomatic relations
Spain established diplomatic relations with Mauritius on May 30, 1979. The Spanish Embassy to Mauritius has residence in Pretoria (South Africa). The Embassy of Mauritius accredited in Spain is its Embassy in Paris.
Spain has actively participated, through the Spanish Embassy in Pretoria, in the Political Dialogues held between the European Union and the Mauritian authorities.
Major sectors such as sugar (90% of crops and 25% of exports), fisheries or textiles weigh in the economy of Mauritius. However, Mauritius has oriented its economy towards services.
