Madagascar–Spain relations

Madagascar-Spain relations are the bilateral and diplomatic relations between these two countries. Both nations established diplomatic relations on March 25, 1966. Cooperation The main issues of relations between Spain and Madagascar are: Development cooperation, although Madagascar is not a preferred country in The Africa Plan. Fishing, since Madagascar is on the route of Spanish tuna fishing in the Indian Ocean. The fight against piracy. On April 20, 2008, the Spanish fishing vessel “Playa de Bakio”, part of whose crew was of Malagasy nationality, was captured by Somali pirates off the coast of this country.
