The main problem of the students with these tests is that lack of sufficient time for preparation. Mathematics is main subject in Engineering related entrance tests. So, for good or bad, most of the students (as well as lecturers) are searsching for short cuts in Mathematics to save time in EAMCET, AIEEE, VIT, BITTSAT,IITJEE,... There are merits and demerits in this sort of practice. Anyhow,Maths short Cuts is the most widely discussed concept in present days. In this page, maths Short Cuts are discussed topic wise. L'Hospital Rule is also one of Maths Short Cutswidely used by EAMCET goers. Putting Method: In Trigonometry, putting method is very famous Maths Short Cut. The process of this method is to search for suitable angles of triangle. Examples: 1) To know if the given triangle is equilateral triangle or right angled traingle or... ,guess the angles those satisfy the given condition (sum of three angles in a triangle is 360°). If cotA+cotB+cotC=3/2, what kind of triangle is ΔABC? Solution: Put ABCC60°. This satisfies the given equation. Hence ΔABC is equilateral triangle. 2)If n is even, sinx+sin(л+x)+sin(2л+x)+.........+sin(nл+x)=? Solution: Since n is even, put n=2. Then it is sinx+sin(л+x). Clearly it is 0. 3)If tanθ=2x(x+1)/2x+1,then sinθ=? Solution: Put x1.tanθ2.1(1+1)/(2.1+1)4/3. clerly sinθ4/5. 4)If sinθ+cosecθ=2, then sin θ+cosec θ=? Solution: Put θ=л/2.
