Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test

The Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test (known as ISEET) is a proposed national-level test for engineering in India. It is expected to begin from the year 2013 and is intended to replace both the IIT-JEE and AIEEE examinations. The bill to conduct the ISEET has been passed by the Lok Sabha but is still to be passed in the Rajya sabha.
Structure
The examination is proposed to be conducted in two stages main and advance, both which will be of a 3 hour duration. ISEET Main will be an objective type exam, and will test comprehension, critical thinking and logical reasoning. ISEET Advance will test problem-solving ability in basic science subjects. The two tests together will indicate a candidate’s scholastic level and aptitude for science and engineering.
The examination is likely to be held twice an year, in April/May, and then later in the year for students who miss the first round.
. The exam will be conducted and managed by the CBSE but the test Paper will be set by the IIT's. ISEET syllabus and pattern of the exam has not been announced yet.
Adoption
Maharastra state government has decided to adopt ISEET from 2013 in the place of Maharashtra state Common Entrance Test (MH-CET).
