The company oversaw many projects in Asia and offered project management and design services on top of the usual simple supervision duties that the company undertakes. In 2001, he devised a new form of direct procurement in the building construction industry dubbed “contract management”. It is today taken as a model in the Southeast Asian construction market. He founded Metakaos, a comprehensive art solutions provider and Mercurio Design Lab soon after, a luxury Italian design firm based in Singapore. Today, he is still actively in-charge-of the Asian operations of the Group. At the same time, he is actively working on expanding the presence of Metakaos and Mercurio Design Lab. He then furthered his education at the faculty of Engineering at the La Sapienza University in Rome specialising in Thermodynamics and Renewable Energies. After obtaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Massimo furthered his studies in Architecture at the university of Pescara where he managed to obtain the necessary foundation for a multi faceted designer. Career Overview Massimo began his career under the apprenticeship of M+W. Projects that he undertook were mostly related to the semiconductor industry, mainly wafer fabrications, in particular CSM Fab2 which was the first one, CSM Fab3, TECH 2 in Singapore and SMT1 in Thailand. In 1996, Massimo started A.M Associates and acted as Managing Director of the company. Projects undertaken were heavily related to the semiconductor industry. In 2007, Massimo started an art gallery Metakaos, which served as a valuable marketing avenue for the AMA business in Singapore and the region. Subsequently Mercurio Design Lab was created to allow re-positioning of the heavy industrial AMA portfolio, to have a distinctive presence in the premium lifestyle industry as a luxury lifestyle design studio. The Lab has taken many upscale and prestigious projects, such as The Hamilton, Grange 74 (iLiv @ Grange) in collaboration with Phillipe Stark who will be designing the interiors, among many others.
