Mary Alice Pearce DeVane

Mary Alice Pearce DeVane (22 September 1944 - 2 September 1998) was a YMCA fundraiser for whom the annual award, Mary Alice DeVane YMCA Spirit Award was created. She died at age 53 of cancer complications.
Achievements
* Won award from Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) at a Ninth Annual Instructor's Conference in Dallas, Texas, for her training of staff at the Sussex Elementary Consortium for crisis prevention.
* 1994: Photographed as fund-raising "superstar"
* 1996 Campaign Co-chair for raising funds for the Sussex Family YMCA.
* 1998: Swim for Fun program was created to benefit annual Campaign for Kids in her memory.
* 1999, 25 May: Cancer In Common celebrated the life of Mary Alice DeVane.
