Martin Rundkvist

Martin Rundkvist (1972-) is an archaeologist based in Stockholm, Sweden. He received his PhD in 2003 from the University of Stockholm for a dissertation about the largest prehistoric cemetery on the Baltic island of Gotland.

Rundkvist's research deals with the prehistory of Scandinavia, mainly the Migration Period, the Vendel Period and the Viking Period (AD 400-1100). In debates, he has taken a rationalistic and critical position against post-modernist relativism in archaeology. He is co-editor of the academic quarterly journal Fornvännen and the skeptical quarterly Folkvett. He also keeps the blog Aardvarchaeology at ScienceBlogs.com.
