Marlo Furniture is the largest Washington-area furniture retailers. Marlo Furniture has four retail showrooms and two distribution centers.



History
This family owned business was founded in 1955 by Louis Glickfield. Marlo, named after Marilyn and Lou, opened on 14th Street, NW, Washington, DC, which has subsequently closed.

Current Stores
Marlo Furniture has four retail showrooms and two distribution centers totaling over 600,000 square feet and over 350 employees. The four stores are in Alexandria, Virginia, Forestville, Maryland, Laurel, Maryland, and Rockville, Maryland. New plans are underway for expansion in Bowie, Maryland and Chantilly, Virginia.

The Glickfield Family
Louis and Marilyn have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. Their oldest son Neal Glickfield runs Marlo Furniture as its current President. Adam Glickfield lives in Florida and has built his own real estate business. Daughter Marla Glickfield devotes her time to working for Marlo Furniture and being a mother. And Cheryl Glickfield has developed her own art gallery.

The Glickfield Family Foundation
The Glickfield Family Foundation, founded by Louis and Marilyn Glickfield, was started over 30 years ago.
