Marlena Starr Kovacevich

Marlena Starr Kovacevich (born December 1st, 1986 in Windsor, Ontario) is a business graduate from the University of Windsor, a figure skating coach at Windsor Figure Skating Club, Riverside Skating Club, and South Windsor Skating Club. She is also a stage choreographer for Theatre Intrigue Society located in Windsor.
Achievements
Marlena has achieved many goals in her skating career including passing the following Skate Canada skating tests; Skating Skills Class 1 (2000), Gold Freeskate Test (2000) Gold Dance Test (2001), Gold Artistic Test Singles (2001), Novice Competitive Singles Freeskate (2002), and Diamond Dance Test (2007).
Coaching
After hanging up her skates, Marlena quickly moved to coaching for the Windsor figure skating club. She is a certified Primary STARSkate Coach (Formally recognized as NCCP level 1 certified) under Skate Canada. She is listed on Skate Canada's Continuous Education Program Honour Roll for achieving a Gold Status in Western Ontario. She currently teaches out of Forest Glade arena, Riverside Skating Club, Windsor Family Credit Union arena, South Windsor arena, and Adie Knox arena, and Windsor arena, which are all located in Windsor, Ontario. She is now in her fifth year of coaching.
Choreographer
After making it through a dance audition, Marlena became a student at Walkerville collegiate Institute's (WCCA) Walkerville Centre for the Creative Arts, program where she gained performance experience as well she had opportunities to put her own choreography on stage. After she graduated, Theatre Intrigue Society then asked Marlena to become one of their choreographers and listed her on their directors page. She has created the dances to the theatre plays Les Miserables (performed in the Capital Theatre), Broadway and Beyond, HMS Pinafore, The Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado, A Night at the Tony's, and several more titles to come. She also teaches Theatre Intrigues very own dance troupe called "TIS the Dance".
