Mark Buckingham is a British polemicist, who writes in favour of GMO foods and is particularly active in the Brexit file. Over the period 2018 to 2020 Buckingham wrote several Daily Telegraph op-eds. Biography As early as 2001, Buckingham was employed by Monsanto as a spokesman. In 2015, Buckingham was still employed by Monsanto. In 2016, while still employed by Monsanto, Buckingham was chairman of the Agricultural Biotechnology Council, a corporate lobby group targeting the UK. In 2019, Buckingham had moved along with the furniture to Bayer Crop Sciences, when the latter absorbed Monsanto in June 2018. His new position was "corporate engagement leader". Political advocacy In 2001, Buckingham was involved in the regulatory process around Monsanto's genetically modified wheat product. Buckingham likes to portray GMO foods as suffering from "political prejudice".<ref name"trmb"/> In 2019, Buckingham portrayed his favoured products as "holistic", said regulations were "overly cautious", and took advantage of the climate crisis to urge farmers to use GMO foods:<ref nameedpmb/>
